ECASARD is governed by a board that supervises and directs the activities of the National Secretariat. The National Secretariat is in charge of implementing programmes and administration
ECASARD’s National Resource Group (NRG) comprises selected members with expertise in various fields. They give advice and technical support to the National Secretariat.
We co-operate with governmental bodies and many national and international networks and organizations with whom we share information, resources and expertise to promote sustainable agriculture and rural development.
King-David Amoah is the Executive Director of the Ecumenical Association for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development(Ecasard) and the immediate past President of the Farmers Organisation Network in Ghana(FONG):
He is a farmer and has a great passion for the development of smallholder farmers in the areas of capacity building, networking, assisting farmers in new technologies, Reseach, finding adoption, linking farmers to sustainable markets as well as advocating for favourable agricultural policies for smallholder farmers.
King-David Amoah is a member of the National Aflatoxin Steering Committee, a member of the National Biosafety Authority Board, the chairman of the National Steering Committee of the undp gef/sgp, a member of FAO Country Program Framework, a member of the Steering Committee of the Farmer Based organisations of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture
Nana Serwaa is the National coordinator for ECASARD and the National Women’s Leader of FONG (Farmers Organizational Network, Ghana)
Known as Gladys Adusah Serwaa, Her stool name is Nana Serwaa Kuruwaa II.
She is the queen mother of Krontre Royal Family of Buoyem Traditional Area. Nana Kruwaa is holds a graduate degree in Democracy, Government and Law.
With over 20 years’ experience in the NGO world, she has championed the cause of women and the youth through the annual celebration of the World Rural Women’s day.
She has 22 years working experience in the educational sector as headmistress and Head of Department for Home Economics at Asuogyaman Secondary School.
For 30 years, she has assisted the Christian Mothers Association in various capacities.
Nana Serwaa has attended several Leadership workshops both National and International and have acquired Leadership certificates.
She is a trained facilitator and a Champion for Change and has trained women and youth in several entrepreneurial fields such as pomade making, soap making, food processing, farming among others. She has also built the capacity of group leaders in organizational development, book keeping, group dynamics, and conflict resolution among others.
Key areas she is strong in advocacy or the struggles include Peasant rights, access to land, right to information, elimination of all forms of violence against women and discrimination against women etc.
She stands for fair representation of women.
Philip Amoah is a Gastronomist and a Natural Resource Manager with expertise in mapping food communities, climate change, plantation establishment and Agroecology.
With close to 20 years working experience, Philip has worked in the private, pubic and development sectors.
He holds a BSc. degree in Natural Resource Management, an MBA and a Master’s degree in Food culture and communication.
